Photo Scrap LO

"10 Things I Love About You..."  I found a LO similar to this one on Pinterest.  Using old photos along with a few new ones I had in a pile I keep for 'just in case', I created this fun LO.  The number 10 on the title is made with chipboard which I colored using a blue Sharpie marker.  The rest of the title minus the heart (Bazzill Basics template) I hand wrote and colored in, adding a gold gel pen inside the lettering for fun.  For the countdown, I traced around number chipboard pieces and colored them blue.  This LO was a lot of fun and one of my favorites as of right now. ;)

Backyard Camping

"Around the Fire"  I thought the buttons looked similar to fire pits (they were round) and liked that they were already part of the page.  On the big circle photo slot, I cut around a couple of buttons to overlay them over the circle.

"The Great Outdoors"  With this LO, I traced around patterned paper and cut it in half, then using embroidery thread, stitched around it.  I also stitched around the journal tag as well.  Using different colored and sized ribbon adds some fun to the page.

"Backyard Adventures"  I made photo frames using white cardstock, then added Cat's eye blue chalk to the edges.  I found a star shape and traced it around paper, cut it out and using a ribbon hole puncher created a button out of it.

4th of July

"Sparkler Fun"  This LO looks kind of like a clipboard.  It's something different anyways.  I used red and white Stickles for the title and the outline of the stars.

"Celebrate Freedom"  This is a fun LO using five pictures and a couple of titles.  I wanted it to look square but added the star ribbon to pull it down a bit.  In a way, it looks like a flag.

"Fun"  I think this LO is fun!  I hand drew a large star (had to cut it down a few times to fit), then added my main picture along with journaling on the sides complete with embroidery thread using Bazzill Basics templates.

"Summer"  Even though this LO is a 4th of July theme, I changed it up a bit using different colors.  I wanted to keep it simple and use up some paper scraps I had which worked perfectly for this LO.

"Memories"  I thought I'd be different and make a scrapbook using old CD-Rom's.  It was really easy and only took me a couple of hours to make it.

First, I picked all the papers I wanted to use for the book, glued them to CD, cut around them and finally I had to make the binder ring hole, so I used my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile to punch through the CD's. Then I used silver eyelets on each CD so the binder ring would slide through the CD's.

Now all I had to do was embellish and make the album; the fun part!  I decided the title would be, "Memories" since I was making it as a gift.  Using a metal letter 'M', I glued that down on some cardstock and hand wrote the rest of the the word, adding pretty ribbon and some buttons for a fun look.

As I do with all my homemade books, I added my Album poem on the inside cover page.  The first page I made to look like an old photo page.

The second page is a journal page followed by the 'Just Monkeying Around.'

The third page, I used a shell template so the receiver could either journal or place a photo.  On the fourth page, I made room for a photo with a cute sticker and tag.

The fifth page could either be a journal tag or a place for a photo.  The inside back page is a gift tag holder I always put in my albums when I'm giving them away as gifts.

On the back, I added my copyright information.

Then I finished off the book by adding the silver binder ring complete with ribbons to decorate it.

This project was a lot of fun and the receiver enjoyed it very much~!

"You R My Sunshine"  The background is Bo Bunny along with the large frame.  I loved the background but thought it might be too busy, so I added the blue cardstock paper to break it up.  Instead of cutting the cardstock straight, I used Paper Craft's Medium Wave scissors to cut the top and bottom to give the effect of waves.  I finished of the edges with embroidery thread.

I painted with water color the title onto white cardstock, let dry, outlined with a Sharpie marker and cut out.  The 'my' tag gives some depth and I traced around the letters with a green pen to make the word stand out.

I added my journaling by cutting strips of pale blue cardstock.  I love this layout; it looks like fun!

"Think Big"  This two-page spread took less than 30 minutes to make.  Usually when I have a lot of pictures of the same thing, I make these pages to save space.

Fortunately, I took a picture of the Mr. Bubble container (good thinking) to use as an embellishment.  I added the 'think big' tag and found a picture of a light bulb that I cut out and used 3D Foam Adhesives on the back to make it pop out, for the great idea!

For a twist, I slightly turned one of the pictures on the left page so it wasn't so boring having everything in the same order.  I found some bubble stickers (Stickopotumus) which added to the theme.

Bridgett's Story Mini Album

"Bridget's Story" is a book made for a friend's cat.  I always have so much fun making these mini books.  I always check with the receiver what their favorite colors are so I can base the book on the color scheme.

The cat poem added to the inside front cover.  The first page is a photo page with journaling added at the bottom.

The second page is a journal card to go with the third page photo slot.  Notice the cute little crown with bling and the tiny safety pin; fun embellishments!

The next page, "2-Gether" is a journal card with photo slot.  Page five also has a photo slot with journaling added to the side.

"Mommy's Girl" on the left is for a photo, but I added another photo slot and a journal card on the next page for fun.

The recipient is a Laker's fan, so I wanted to incorporate that into the album.  Knowing she had a picture of her cat watching the game, I made the TV photo slot for that reason.  The next page, I had the basketball sticker and added the journal card.

The last page is a photo slot.  I wanted to show the love between the recipient and her cat.  The inside cover has the tag folder I add to all my books with a homemade tag.
And last, but not least, the back cover with my trademark sticker.  I thought the paw print was appropriate for the cat.  I also added my copyright information.

The book is then finished off with pretty ribbon and bound.

Tent Set Up 101

"Tent Set Up 101"  Since I had an even number of photos, I put all the photos on an 8 1/2 x 11" white cardstock.  I cut the top off a little bit, added my title and some journaling. The stars were made from a star template, then I tore them into shape rather than cutting for a different look.  I used a button puncher to make them into buttons and tied with ribbons.

Picnic Layouts

"Just the Two of Us" was made by free hand drawing the swirly's.  To make them appear like fireworks, I cut strips of red, yellow and blue cardstock into confetti.  I glued each one on to the hand drawn pattern.  The title is also hand drawn and colored in with Sharpie markers.  I added some silver and gold gel pens to some of the confetti to make them look like they were exploding fireworks.

"Summer"  This layout was fun; I love the color scheme.  I used an actual piece of notebook paper for the title background, and the rest is cardstock.  the embroidered buttons were made using We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy, burst.  I decided to bring out the yellow in my son's shirt for the bursts, or fireworks.  The title is hand drawn and colored with Sharpie markers.

Fourth of July 2 Pg Spread

This was a fun layout, "American as Apple Pie" to make especially since I had a lot of pictures.  I love making 2 page spreads because the possibilities are endless.  The striped paper is actually wrapping paper.  I loved the colors, kind of Americana.  I used chipboard buttons with colored paper over them, sanded the edges to make them look old.  The blue flower on the right hand side is a chipboard flower covered in blue tissue paper; I used Mod-Podge to glue it down, covered it with Chunky Glitter Glue Stars Galore.  The mod-podge makes it shiny as well, but I wanted it to look like a firework.  I tried to fill in some of the blank spots with these embellishments and ribbon.
