Summer Fun

"Bucket Head"  I decided to try something fun and different.  I traced the side of a bowl half way with a pencil, then hand stitched in orange the half circle with sequins.  Because I didn't have enough white sequins, I added a few orange to go with the background.  Because I had a lot of photos, I cut some large and some small into circles to go with my half circle.  To make the photo look normal inside the half circle, I traced half of the picture with the bowl and used a corner punch on the right hand side of the photo to make it even.

"Cool in the Pool"  In this layout, I didn't want a lot of circles because of the background, so I used a large square to break up all the circles, yet still incorporated a circle journal tag to give the effect of a sun.  I then hand wrote the title in a blue Sharpie pen.  The green splashes are from a rub-on in which I wanted it to look like water was splashing out of the pool.

In the Army

"In the Army"  For this page and the following page I used Paper Studio papers in Army Motif.  The top LO, I created a  collage of photos, overlapping them to make one big picture.  I used Bias Tape, (the green and white striped ribbon), to separate the journal tag from the pictures along with brown buttons for something fun.  The title is hand drawn by me and outlined with a silver gel pen.  In both LO's, I used Essentials 3D stickers by SandyLion.

"The Little Things"  In this LO, I found an 8x8 Army motif paper to go along with the background and to adhere the photos.  I found a journal tag that I chalked with dark green (Cat's Eye) pigment so it would blend into the background.  Then I added the 3D stickers for fun.

At the Fair

"Fair Fun"  The background is October Afternoon and the picture frame is from S.E.I.'s Paisley & Perals (Frames, Tabs & Labels sticker sheet). The title stickers are from Rusty Pickle which I outlined with a green Sharpie to bring the title out.  The banner was from the Echo Park Playground series.  And the ice cream sticker is from Stickopotomus.

"How High"  The number border is from Echo Park's Playground series.  The sticker in between the two photos is from Bo Bunny's Summer Sun cardstock stickers.  I journaled around the frame for something different.  I also added black borders around the photos to make them stand out.  To make the title, I used chipboard letters in which I traced around with a black pen for something different.

Torn Paper LO

"I-80 Truck Stop"  I thought it would be fun to cut out a circle and then tear it, place a photo behind it and embellish.  To hold down the torn paper, I used brackets and brads.  I added some strips of scrap paper in the color scheme and a journal tag.  The flower sticker is from Echo Park's "For the Record" line along with the black decorative strip.  The background paper is from We R Memory Keepers.

Arcade Fun

"Hangin' @ Happy Joe's Pizza"  I used multiple shapes using colored scrap cardstock.  Because I wasn't sure how I was going to arrange the photos, I just took all three and dropped them, making the arrangement!  To add some fun, I added the circle frame to the medium sized picture to break them up.  The paper is Echo Park's Playground and the 'Play Happy' tags are from My Mind's Eye.  The title stickers are American Crafts Thickers.

"Skee Ball"  Because the pictures were dark, I used a dark background followed by the bright yellow behind the photos to bring them out more.  The title was made by using scrap chipboard letter which I traced around red paper (tracing the letters backwards so the pencil would show through), then running the letters through the Fiskers Crimper.  In between the crimps, I added Christmas Red Stickles to bring out the title.  For the embellishment, I hand drew the stars and cut them out, using scraps of paper.

"Oh Boy"  Using Echo Park's Playground for the background and the red & white strip and tickets, I created this fun layout.  The picture frames are from scraps of Cosmo Cricket.  I had a transparent journal tag from Recollections that I cut out in a half circle to break up the rectangles, then added some buttons for fun.
